Summertime Big Sur Elopement at Bixby Bridge

I’ve been a Big Sur elopement photographer for TEN YEARS this year (2021)… what the heck. Unbelievable. And in those ten years, I’ve had dozens of couples confess how awkward they are in front of the camera, how shy they might be, and overall express a timidness about taking photos. I totally get it. I’ve been in your shoes and stood where you stand. I got you. You’re in good company.

I’ve been told before that I’m the photographer for awkward people, haha, which was a super endearing complement to hear. It came from one of the many couples who swear they’re unphotographable (this is a word now), and I’m super stoked, because I feel like I’ve fallen into this awesome little niche where I get to make couples feel comfortable and recognize their best selves in the photos I take of them.

Anyway. I’m just so thankful for this job and the role I get to play in the lives of those I photograph and felt like I should write a bit about that real quick before diving into Georges and Ashley’s photos.

We had such an awesome time together, roaming all over Big Sur. They got married at Glen Oaks, which has some of the most epic redwoods in the area. After their ceremony, I followed them down the coast to take photos of them in their VW along Highway 1, before finding ourselves at the end of the day at Bixby Bridge.

Such an amazing time. Such summer. So Big Sur.

Here’s to another 10 years as a Big Sur elopement photographer. This little corner of California can’t be beat, and this job is absolutely the best.

And for those of you wanting to see more than just my favs down below, here’s the full gallery delivered to these two.
