Glen Oaks Elopement in Big Sur – Taylor + Grant
There are certain places that feel like they were made for elopements, and Glen Oaks in Big Sur is one of them. Tucked beneath towering redwoods and just a short drive from the cliffs and beaches that make Big Sur legendary, it offers couples a rare mix of intimacy and scale—quiet spaces that still carry the weight of California’s rugged coastline.
Taylor and Grant chose Glen Oaks for their elopement, and it felt like the perfect match. The day started among the redwoods, with filtered light breaking through the canopy and a stillness that made every moment feel intentional. Unlike a traditional venue, a Glen Oaks elopement doesn’t need decoration or staging. The forest itself frames the ceremony, and the atmosphere does the work of reminding you that you’re standing in a place much bigger than yourself.
From Glen Oaks, we made our way to Pfeiffer Beach, where the wind and ocean gave the afternoon a completely different texture. The cliffs, the purple sand, and the steady rhythm of the waves became part of Taylor and Grant’s story. It’s this variety—the ability to move between quiet forest vows and dramatic coastal portraits—that makes a Big Sur elopement, and especially a Glen Oaks elopement, so unique.
What stood out most, though, wasn’t just the scenery. It was Taylor and Grant themselves: calm, kind, and fully present with each other. The best photographs weren’t the ones where the light hit perfectly or the wind moved just right. They were the frames where nothing was forced, where they simply existed in the moment together.
A Glen Oaks elopement is for couples who want more than a backdrop—it’s for those who want a place that mirrors the depth of their connection. Taylor and Grant embodied that perfectly, and being there to witness it was something I’ll carry long after the day itself.
