Sun Soaked Timber Cove Elopement

Alex and Ben’s Timber Cove elopement on the Sonoma Coast was a good reminder that weddings don’t need much to feel meaningful. No guests, no packed timeline, just the two of them, the ocean, and one of the best places in Northern California to get married.

They started the day slowly in their room at Timber Cove, reading letters their friends and family wrote for them ahead of time. Even without anyone there in person, the letters made the day feel full. Some were funny, some were emotional, and a few of them definitely caught them off guard. It set the tone for the whole day in a really natural way.

For the ceremony, we walked out to the cliffs overlooking the water. This is one of my favorite spots for a Timber Cove elopement, and it never disappoints. The Sonoma Coast brought the usual wind and haze, which honestly always makes everything look better in photos.

After the vows, we took our time exploring the property for portraits. Timber Cove is perfect for that because everything is close together. You get trees, trails, cliffs, and ocean views without having to rush anywhere. We started near the lodge, wandered through the cypress trees, then headed back out to the coastline for sunset.

Timber Cove is always a solid choice for an elopement, but this day is exactly why. Alex and Ben kept things simple, stayed present, and let the day unfold instead of trying to control it. That approach almost always makes a Timber Cove elopement feel more real, more relaxed, and way more like the couple.
