Sophie + Will. April 4th. Barns at Cooper Molera Wedding in Monterey, CA.
The dress hung against a white wall like it was already posing. Sophie put her earrings in at the Kimpton Mirador Hotel while the city sat quietly outside the window behind her. That last still moment before everything starts moving and doesn’t stop.
It moved fast after that. Will in the lobby looking like he’d been born in that suit. The ceremony courtyard at Cooper Molera filling up under the old Monterey cypress. A hundred people settling into wooden chairs, waiting. The fortune cookie escort wall standing in the garden. “Fortunate to have you here.”
Then they walked back down the aisle and the whole thing exhaled.
Oysters and hot sauce at cocktail hour. The three guys who immediately took over the ceremony chairs with their whiskeys like they owned the place. The flower girl sprinting through the barn doors with a cupcake and an expression that needed no caption. Two women by the fire pit at midnight, the whole party still going somewhere behind them.
The Barns at Cooper Molera is one of the best wedding venues in Monterey. The wood, the string lights, the sand underfoot, the way the barn glows when the sky goes dark. Paired with getting ready at the Kimpton Mirador, this day had everything.
Sophie and Will, this one was really good.
