Derek and Chelsea’s October wedding at Loma Vista Gardens felt like a deep exhale — the kind of day where nothing was rushed, everything felt intentional, and the Big Sur backdrop grounded every moment in something bigger than words.

Loma Vista is the kind of place that doesn’t need much dressing up. Hidden in the hills of Big Sur, surrounded by succulents, old-growth trees, and soft mountain light, it already feels like a little world of its own. And that’s exactly what Derek and Chelsea wanted — a space that felt personal, quiet, and real.

They chose to keep things simple. The ceremony took place in a garden clearing, no arch, no elaborate setup — just the two of them, held by trees, with their people close. There were tears, and laughs, and the kind of stillness you don’t often get on a wedding day.

Chelsea wore a fitted lace dress that moved with her like it had always been hers. Derek kept it classic in black on black, with just a pin and boutonniere as a nod to the occasion. Together, they wandered the garden paths, tucked between cacti and ivy, with that “we did it” glow in full effect.

Dinner was held under the trees, with long wooden tables, wild seasonal florals, and string lights overhead. No assigned seating, no rigid timeline — just good food, honest toasts, and a lot of hugs.
