A University Club San Francisco Wedding | Grego & Tamiko
There are venues that feel like they were built for weddings, and then there are venues that feel like they were built for stories. The University Club of San Francisco, perched atop Nob Hill, is firmly the latter. Dark wood paneling, leather chairs, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, and the kind of quiet elegance that takes a century to earn. It was the perfect setting for Grego and Tamiko’s February wedding.
Getting Ready
The bride and bridesmaids got ready at the Stanford Court nearby while Grego and his groomsmen gathered in the University Club’s library. That library sets the tone before the day even begins. Rich mahogany, antique volumes, candlelight filtering through the windows. It is the kind of room that makes a groom stand a little straighter.
The Ceremony
The University Club’s interior ballroom felt both intimate and grand, the chandelier overhead and dark hardwood floors scattered with rose petals. When Grego and Tamiko walked back down the aisle together, their faces said everything the vows had already put into words.
The Reception
Dinner, toasts, cake, first dance. The evening moved the way the best wedding receptions do: unhurried, warm, full of people who genuinely love each other. The speeches were a highlight. Between Grego’s dad, the maid of honor, and the best man, there were laughs, a few tears, and the unmistakable feeling of a community celebrating two people they are truly glad found each other.
By the time the last song played and guests spilled out into the Nob Hill night, the evening had delivered everything a winter wedding in San Francisco should: warmth, elegance, and a lot of love.
San Francisco Showed Up
One of my favorite things about shooting a Nob Hill wedding is the way the city insists on being part of the story. The alleys between grand buildings, all shadow and dramatic light. The cable cars on Powell Street below. The fog that softens everything just enough. Grego and Tamiko’s wedding felt deeply San Francisco from the venue right down to the energy in the room.
Congratulations to two people who clearly bring out the best in each other. It was an honor to be there.
